Journey towards who you were created to be.

“Something has to change.”

Feeling lost, overwhelmed, and directionless is common in today’s fast-paced world. Despite our best efforts, we fear we'll eventually fall apart. Counseling is the journey to discover what pulls the pieces of you back together toward a meaningful life.

“No one wants to hear about my problems.”

Sometimes you just need someone to listen deeply with no judgment. I want to hear your story. In our session, you can lay down what you have held on to for so long.

“Do you see couples?”

Yes, I look forward to working with all couples who reach out to me for help with their relationship. Couples often find it difficult to resolve conflicts without assistance because of the emotional complexities and deep-rooted personal histories each individual brings to the relationship. Communication barriers and differing expectations usually make things even harder. I approach relationship conflicts with compassion and evidence-based therapeutic approaches, like IFS and EFT, to resolve attachment ruptures and negative argument cycles.

“Can I discuss my spirituality in session?”

Whether or not you talk about your spirituality is up to you. If you decide you would like to discuss spiritual or religious matters, I follow the guidelines of the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC). These guidelines ensure I respond to your discussions about spirituality and religion with respect, acceptance, and sensitivity. I will use concepts that are consistent with your spiritual and religious perspectives and make sure all spiritual discussions are therapeutically relevant. You can learn more about the ASERVIC spiritual competencies and guidelines here.

Counseling Approaches

Together, we will collaborate to set goals and use evidence-based therapies to achieve them. I typically use a combination of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Theory (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These theories provide a comprehensive approach that will help us attend to your past, present, and future within an evidence-based framework. If you would like to learn more about these approaches to counseling, I have included a few of their introductory videos below.

Counseling Philosophy

My philosophy of life and approach to counseling is to view everyone as an infinitely valuable child of God. We were created for a reason, but suffering, tragedy, and evil make us feel hopeless, lost, empty, broken, and lacking purpose.

Our sessions will be a journey together to rediscover meaning and unify your fragmented parts toward a better future.
